Slaask has invented the ‘Many-to-Slack’ concept, designed it and developed as a specific product, that gives any company the ability to deploy a group live chat anywhere (also known as: community chat, or, chat room) that is fully compatible with Slack.
A Slaask group live chat provides access, to all your contacts, to the entire conversation history between your team and other contacts and all such conversations go into a single Slack public channel.
How do I use this product from the company’s side?
- You can request access to this feature simply by chatting with our team.
- Sign in at slaask.com.
- Select Routing on the left panel.
- Choose Teams.
- You have by default 1 group under the Many to Slack feature. You can add your team members inside this group, who will then be able to access this public channel on their Slack. 1 group is perfect for your company, if you only have 1 public community to manage.
- If you have more than 1 type of community, you can create different groups under the Many to Slack feature. By doing so, when a visitor comes to your site, they will have to choose the community they want to join, before they start chatting with others. Correspondingly, you can assign different team members to different communities to ensure the right team members get access to the right community.
- Your team can then chat with your contacts simultaneously via the same single Slack public channel.
- While chatting with your contacts, you can use 3 commands in this channel:
!count
to know how many contacts are online.!news
your_news_content will be shown as a bar in the live chat by using such command. If you send such command again with different content, the former content in the news will be replaced with the new content. Maximum 55 characters.!news off
to cancel the news bar by using !news off.
How is this product used on the contact’s side?
- A contact visits your site and clicks on the chat button.
- If your company offers 1 community, the contact can directly start chatting with other contacts and your team.
- If your company offers more than 1 type of communities, the contact can choose the community they want to join, before starting the conversation. If the contact wants to change a community, they can click “Log out” at the upper right-hand corner of the live chat and choose another community.
How will your contacts' names be displayed in the live chat?
- If your contacts are anonymous, they are shown as “Visitor-#X”. X here is a number, for example, “Visitor-#123”.
- If the live chat is installed inside a logged-in web application, by using the Slaask identify function, all the contacts in the chat will be automatically recognized / identified. Your contacts will also be able to see each other’s names.
- If you place the live chat in a public web application with no login, but you want your contacts' names to be shown in the chat, you can enable a pre-chat to ask for their name before starting the chat. You can ask for their first name or user name, or any other type of name you may want to know.
